BRONX, N.Y. - The Purchase College baseball team cruised to one of its biggest wins in recent memory Tuesday, after besting Lehman College by the score of 26-4.
With the result, the Panthers moved 10-13 overall, while the Lightning dropped to 2-16.
The Blue and Orange plated at least one run in all seven innings, as they exploded for nine runs in the second and five in the seventh.
In total, they guests finished with 26 runs on 24 hits, as seven players had multi-hit games.
Leading the charge was
Liam Daly (SR/Babylon, NY) who finished with five hits, including a grand slam, a two-run homer and two doubles, eight RBIs, four runs and a walk.
Michael Pagano (FY/Franklin Square, NY) also crushed a grand slam to finish with four RBIs and two runs.
On the hill, Purchase used six arms, as only the starter,
Sean Fanning (FY/Smithtown, NY) went longer than an inning. He went two and allowed one run on three hits with a strikeout.
Colin D'Onofrio (SO/Stamford, CT) earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning of relief.
Up next for the squad is a return to Skyline Conference action, as they travel to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on April 12th. That doubleheader is set to begin at 11 a.m.
