KINGS POINT, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team was thwarted on the road Tuesday, falling to the United States Merchant Marine Academy by the score of 6-1.
With the result, the Panthers are now 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the Skyline Conference. For the Mariners, they moved to 5-1 and 4-0, respectively.
The Blue and Orange started with a doubles win at the No.1 spot, as
Eli Palagatshev (SR/Yonkers, NY) and
Isaac Spottek (SO/Conklin, NY) rolled, 6-2.
The guests lost the other two doubles contests though and dropped the point.
As action switched to singles, Palagatshev continued his season of dominance, as he earned another win at the No.1 spot.
He took his match by the scores of 6-1 and 6-2.
Up next for the Panthers is a return home as they host Mount Saint Mary College on April 8th at 3 p.m.
