PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College softball team was defeated twice Thursday evening, as it lost to Western Connecticut State University by the scores of 9-1 and 6-4.
With the results, the Panthers moved to 11-9 overall. For the Wolves, they jumped 7-13 on the year.
Game One: WestConn 9, Purchase 1 (6 inn.)
The first game of the day saw the guests cruise as they opened with three runs in the first inning and two more in the second.
For the Blue and Orange, they scored their lone run in the fourth inning off an RBI-single from
Mel Harper (JR/Patchogue, NY).

Game Two: WestConn 6, Purchase 4 (8 inn.)
The second contest was a much closer affair, as a late comeback sunk the hosts.
Initially, it was Purchase that jumped ahead thanks to a four-run third inning. However, those were the only runs of the contest for the Panthers, as the Wolves started to slowly rally.
Over the next five innings, the guests scored in four of them, including one run in the seventh to tie things up and two more in the eighth to claim victory.

Halle Greaige (JR/Rye Brook, NY) led the way with a two-run double.
On the mound, Goff took the loss despite pitching into extra innings. She went eight innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on 11 hits with five strikeouts.
Up next for the squad is a return to Skyline Conference action, as it hosts St. Joseph's-Long Island on April 12th at 11 a.m.
