Softball Bested at Farmingdale State

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College softball team was defeated on the road Friday afternoon, falling to Farmingdale State College by the scores of 9-0 and 8-0.

With the result, the Panthers dropped to 15-19 overall and 5-11 in the Skyline Conference. For the Rams, they moved to 23-15 and 13-3. respectively.

Game One: Farmingdale 9, Purchase 0 (5 inn.)

The hosts' offense was hot all day, as they scored runs in every inning. For the Blue and Orange, they finished with four hits at the plate.

Sam Christopher (JR/North Babylon, NY) led the way with two hits, including a triple.

On the mound, Bryce Kane (FY/Westborough, MA) collected the loss in the start. She allowed nine runs on 12 hits over three innings.

Game Two: Farmingdale 8, Purchase 0 (5 inn.)

The second game of the day saw the Rams roll once again, as they plated eight runs over the second and third innings.

For Purchase, it had five hits this time around, including a pair from Arielle Reddick (SO/Fishkill, NY).

Liv Goff (JR/Syracuse, NY) was tagged in the defeat, as she went four innings. She allowed eight runs (five earned) on seven hits with two strikeouts.

Up next for the Panthers is the season finale, as they travel to SUNY Old Westbury on May 2nd at noon.
