PURCHASE, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase women's soccer team was defeated at home Thursday night, falling to Pratt Institute by the score of 3-0.
With the result, the Panthers are now 0-1-1 overall, while the Cannoneers jumped to 4-1.
The guests struck early in the contest, finding the back of the net in the sixth minute. Over the course of the first half, they added two more goals to carry a 3-0 lead into the break.
Following halftime, the Blue and Orange continued to battle despite the deficit and were nearly rewarded with a goal in the 63rd minute.
However, the penalty chance was saved by the Pratt keeper to keep the clean sheet intact. In the end, the guests prevailed with the halftime scoreline.
Overall, the Panthers produced 12 shots, including nine on goal, and seven corner kicks in the effort.Â

Jill Creegan (JR/High Falls, NY) finished with five saves in the loss.
Up next for the Panthers is the beginning of Skyline Conference play, as the squad travels to Old Westbury on September 19th at noon.
