PURCHASE, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase women's volleyball team earned a hard-fought win Friday night, topping Lehman College in four sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-23, 17-25, 25-21 and 25-18. With the result, the Panthers moved to 3-3 overall, while the Lightning dropped to 0-6.
All four sets saw back and forth action, as long rallies and runs controlled the pace of play throughout.
For the hosts, they finished with 41Â kills on .097 hitting, while Lehman recorded 32 and .102, respectively.
The turning point in the match came in the third frame, as the Blue and Orange erased an early 7-0 hole to earn a decisive win and regain control.
Individually,
Gabby Vanterpool (FY/Baldwin, NY) continues to shine for the Panthers, as she led the way with 13 kills, two solo blocks and two block assists.
Natalia Leite (SR/Thornwood, NY) chipped in 19 assists, 11 digs and two aces, while
Marcella Pena (SR/Bronx, NY) had a season-high 23 digs.
Up next for the squad is a home matchup with York College on September 21st at 7 p.m.
