PURCHASE, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase women's soccer team was bested at home Wednesday night, falling to the University of Mount Saint Vincent by the score of 3-0.
With the result, the Panthers are now 0-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the Skyline Conference. For the Dolphins, they jumped to 3-3-1 and 2-0-1, respectively.
During the opening half of play, the two sides were evenly matched as they played to a 0-0 draw score.
Following the break, the guests scored in the first minute of the second period to grab the lead for good. They later added goals in the 72nd and 83rd minutes.
Overall, the Blue and Orange finished with four shots, including two on goal. Their best chance on goal was a
Saige Navara (JR/Hurley, NY) free kick in the 45th minute that went just high.
In goal,
Jill Creegan (JR/High Falls, NY) did all she could do, as she recorded a season-high 15 saves.
Up next for the Panthers is a road matchup at Sarah Lawrence College on September 26th at 6 p.m.
