Panthers Defeated in Opener at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The SUNY Purchase women's volleyball team was defeated in the 2026 season opener Thursday evening, falling at Albertus Magnus College in straight sets.

Scores for the contest were 25-6, 25-13 and 25-13.

Gabby Vanterpool (FY/Baldwin, NY) led the effort with six points, as she recorded three aces, two solo blocks and a kill.

Sadie Weiss (JR/Bronx, NY) chipped in two kills, four assists and five digs, while Marcella Pena (SR/Bronx, NY) tallied a game-high seven digs in the effort.

Up next for the squad is road game at Brooklyn College on September 8th at 7 p.m.
