PURCHASE, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase cross country teams opened up the 2026 season Sunday morning, competing in a head-to-head meet with Yeshiva University.

The Panthers finished second on the men's and women's side on account of not having enough runners available. However, that didn't stop either side from battling to the finish line.

Results

For the women, Flora Parker-Myers (SO/Kingston, NY) picked up right where she left off last season, as she dominated out of the gate with a 4K time of 18:55 to finish first overall.

For comparison, the second runner of the day completed the event in a time of 22:23.

As for the rest of the Panthers, Madeline Ortiz (JR/Yonkers, NY) finished sixth out of 11 runners, while Katie Argenzio (JR/Washingtonville, NY) and Halle Greaige (SR/Rye Brook, NY) placed 10th and 11th, respectively.

On the men's side, Alexander Carbo (SR/Hopedale, MA) claimed the top prize, as he finished first in the 6K in a time of 23:16.

Kevin Sanguina (JR/Patterson, NY) came in fifth out of 10 runners, while Jaden Forth (FY) came in seventh in his first career race.
