(Sept. 29, 2010) – Farmingdale State shutout Purchase 3-0 Wednesday as the Rams won their third consecutive game.
FSC improved to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in the Skyline Conference, dropping the Panthers dropped to 1-7-1 and 0-3 in conference play.
Farmingdale State struck first as Mathew Arthurs scored on a header off a corner kick by Brian Anderson 29:45 into the contest.
The Rams controlled much of the first half as they held a 13-2 shot advantage.
In the second half, FSC forward Rafal Jurkowski scored an unassisted goal at the 54:17 mark, increasing the Rams lead to 2-0.
Anderson netted the game clincher with five minutes remaining from 10 yards out.
FSC goalkeeper Ricky Meschkow had three saves in the win.
David Kurzweil (SR/Bedford, NY) stopped 14 shots for Purchase.
