Albany, NY (Oct. 20, 2011) – Sage College earned a 2-0 win over visiting Purchase Thursday night at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

In the process, the Gators improved to 10-6-1 overall and 6-3 in the league.

Purchase drops to 6-5-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the conference.

The Gators made the most of a defensive error as Purchase fell down 1-0 in the opening minutes of play as they allowed an own goal at 0:32.

The Gators then tallied a goal at 10:19 as sophomore defender Nick Mauro fired the ball in from about 30 yards out for his fourth goal of the season.

The two squads each had chances, but Sage's freshman goalie Trevor Paddy collected the win after making some key saves in the contest. He finished the night with six saves and improves to 7-2 in net. Purchase's David Kurzweil (SR/Bedford, NY) made 11 saves in suffering the loss.
