Season Ends in Quarterfinals

Farmingdale, NY (Feb. 22, 2011) – No. 3 Farmingdale State ended No. 6 Purchase's season in the quarterfinals of the Skyline Conference Tournament Tuesday night.

FSC advanced past the first round in a 99-55 win. The Rams will now play No. 2 NYU-POLY in the league semifinals Thursday night.

In the quarters, the Rams (19-7) jumped ahead early as forward Jalicia Connell scored 11 of the team's first 19 points, including three baskets from three-point range. FSC extended its lead to 33-7 with 9:56 remaining before halftime.

Farmingdale would lead by as many as 29 in the first half, while shooting 54.3% from the field.
Leading 48-21 to start the second half, the Rams outscored Purchase 48-34 en route to the win.

FSC's Kayla Koch was 8 of 10 from the field for 18 points, while Connell also scored 18.

Purchase (8-18) was led by rookie center Rachel Perrone (FR/Poughquag, NY), who recorded a double-double after scoring 19 points and collecting 11 boards.

Playmaker MaryAlice Palmer (SO/Reno, NV) added seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals. Jess Lindsay (FR/Rochester, NY) and Sarah Straub (SR/Brooklyn, NY) contributed 10 and eight points, respectively.
