(Oct. 10, 2012) – Farmingdale State used a nine-minute span to get the better of Purchase Wednesday.
The host Rams scored four goals over that period in a 4-0 win, dropping Purchase to 5-6-1 and 2-4 in conference play. Meanwhile, FSC improved to 6-7-1 overall and 4-2 in the Skyline.
Neither team scored in the first half, while Purchase held a 5-4 shot advantage, but Farmingdale State's junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti made four saves to keep the game scoreless.
In the second, FSC's midfielder J.T. Famularo got the Rams on the board in the 47th minute with an unassisted goal. Defender Brian Anderson scored on a penalty kick in the 49th minute for a 2-0 lead. Forward Orlandy Charleston scored in the 52nd minute for the 3-0 advantage and the final goal came at 55:53 with Famularo's second goal of the day.
Viteritti finished with seven saves for his sixth shutout of the season.
