Purchase, NY (Nov. 20, 2012) – Purchase fell short against Manhattanville Tuesday, falling 64-35.

The Valiants were led by sophomore Alyson Caiazzo, who finished the game with her third straight double-double of the year (11 rebounds and a career-high 19 points).
 
Manhattanville fell behind early, 4-1, but the hosts answered back with six straight points, including a pair of layups to go up 7-6.
 
After a basket by Purchase, the Valiants again answered back with seven unanswered and opened up a 14-6 edge.

Shortly later, Purchase sank another jumper, as Lineker St.Hilaire (SO/Wyandanch, NY) broke the drought for the Panthers, but once again the Valiants went on a strong run of another six points to open up a 23-10 lead.
 
Purchase broke off another 10 straight and ended the half on a high note, as the game went to halftime with the Valiants holding onto a three-point advantage.
 
After the halftime break, Purchase hit its' 12th consecutive point. But the Valiants rattled off 24 consecutive points down the stretch to pull away after a strong start by the Panthers.
 
In the stretch, the Valiants were led by Caiazzo with nine points. The strong second half opened up Manhattanville's largest lead of the game at 32 with 5:19 to go in regulation.
 
Purchase finished the game outscoring their hosts, 7-4, but it wasn't enough.

St.Hilaire led Purchase with 10 points.

Purchase (1-2) will next play on the floor of the Merchant Marine Academy next Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
