Panthers Start Second Half in Win Column

Down Lehman 64-45 for Fourth Straight Victory

Bronx, NY (Dec. 29, 2012) – Purchase College women's basketball returned to action Saturday on the road and jumped right into the win column in their first game since before the holiday break.

The Panthers (5-6) used a late first-half spurt to capture a 64-45 win at Lehman College. A 16-0 run broke the game open. Purchase led by as many as 25 points in the second half en route to winning four in a row.

Purchase tri-captain Jess Lindsay (JR/Rochester, NY) scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds. She also swiped two steals in the win. Teammate and fellow tri-captain Lineker St.Hilaire (SO/Wyandanch, NY) finished with a double-double, netting 16 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. She also added two assists and three steals.

Alexis Billups (SR/Chester, NY) handed out a game-high six assists, and newcomer Talia Beaulieu (SR/Waldorf, MD) nearly contributed a double-double off the bench, totaling 15 points and nine rebounds. The Mercy College transfer played well in her Purchase debut.

In defeat, freshman Jennifer Navarro paced Lehman with 21 points.   

Up next, the Panthers return to action Jan. 3 at SJC-BKLYN.
