(Dec. 5, 2012) – Running into a very strong Farmingdale State team on the evening, the Purchase College women's basketball team found themselves losing to their hosts 76-38 on Wednesday.
In the game's first half, neither team led by more than four points until the 9:55 mark when Farmingdale State used a 10-0 run to take a 22-12 lead, an advantage that would build to 31-19 heading into the locker room at halftime.
The Rams were then equally strong in the second half, outscoring Purchase 45-19 in the second stanza.
For the Panthers, now 1-6 overall and 0-2 in Skyline Conference play, forward
Jalisa Fields (SR/Bronx, NY) led the way with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while guard
Lineker St.Hilaire (SO/Wyandanch, NY) tallied eight points and 13 rebounds.
Jess Lindsay (JR/Rochester, NY) chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds for the Panthers
Farmingdale State, now 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Skyline, was led on the evening by junior guard Nicky Young, who poured in 25 points, had seven rebounds and four assists.
The Panthers have a chance to post a comeback when they host York College this Saturday at noon.
