Sanguina Scores Two Goals in Rout; Riveros Tallies Four Points

Yonkers, NY (Sept. 19, 2012) – An early tie was broken by four straight Purchase goals, as the Panthers closed out host Sarah Lawrence, 5-1, Wednesday night on the road.

The Panthers took a 2-1 lead at half thanks to a Zach Miller (SO/Saratoga, NY) score, which was assisted by Blaise Bourgeois (JR/Rochester, NY). Junior Sanguina (SO/White Plains, NY) gave the visitors an early 1-0 advantage, but Sarah Lawrence tied it off a score by Ishaan Pujari.

The Miller score opened the floodgates for Purchase. The Panthers built off the 2-1 halftime lead and won, 5-1, scoring three, second-half goals. Sanguina netted his second goal in the 59th minute before standout rookie Kevin Riveros (FR/Port Chester, NY), who also had a pair of assists, pushed the lead to 4-0. Carlos Aguirre (JR/Bedford, NY) assisted on his goal.  

Bourgeois, who also played well in the overwhelming victory, added the game's final mark. Michael Beckett (JR/Yorktown Heights, NY) was credited with the assist on the last score.

Purchase goalkeeper Dylan Hyman (SO/San Francisco, CA) stopped five shots in the win.

The Panthers are now 3-2-1 on the season.
