Bourgeois Sets Maritime a Blaise

Hat Trick Propels 4-1 Win

Bronx, NY (Sept. 28, 2012) – What a night for Blaise Bourgeois. What a night for the thriving Purchase Panthers men's soccer team.

Purchase and Bourgeois went into SUNY Maritime Friday night and pulled a thrilling 4-1 Skyline Conference win. Backed by a Bourgeois hat trick, the Panthers kept rolling this fall, improving to 5-2-1 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Bourgeois (JR/Rochester, NY) scored the first three goals of the game, all in the first half, to record a hat trick for the visiting Panthers. His first two goals were just 59 seconds apart in the 16th and 17th minutes and the third came in the 30th minute. Top-flight rookie Kevin Riveros (FR/Port Chester, NY) netted the fourth goal for Purchase late, in the 89th minute at Reinhart Field.

In defeat, the host Privateers dropped to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the Skyline.   

Goalkeeper Dylan Hyman (SO/San Francisco, CA) earned the victory, notching six saves in another strong effort.
As for Maritime, freshman Patrick McCarty netted his first career goal in the loss. He scored in the 68th minute, with Purchase leading 3-0.

The Panthers are now tied for third place in the conference standings.
