Brooklyn, NY (Jan. 19, 2013) Justin Person dropped 19 points in Saturday's 68-55 win at NYU-POLY, leading Purchase to another Skyline Conference victory.

After trailing by 18 at the half and as many as 24 points in the second half, the hosts made a valiant effort to come back against one of the league's top teams.

But Person (JR/Greenburgh, NY) and company were simply too much.

The swingman scored 19 and added two assists and one steal to his credit. Guard Andre Nixon (JR/Harlem, NY) added 17 points, two assists and swiped five steals in another sterling all-around effort. Center Joel Neri (SO/Port Chester, NY), who scored 14 points last time out, continues to come on strong in the second half of the season. He scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Saturday's road win.

Defense fueled the win as Purchase recorded 18 steals as a team.

Ed Klementowicz led the Jays with 13 points, three assists and four steals. Thomas Fabian added 11 points, including three buckets from downtown.

The Jays came out of the half on a 5-0 run, keyed by a trifecta from Brendan Gallagher to cut the Purchase lead to 13.

But Purchase would steadily grow its lead up to 24 by the 12:56 mark. After going down by 24 points again, this time with 6:35 to play, NYU-POLY ended the game on a 14-3 run. It still wasn't enough as the combination of defense and some timely hoops from Person, Nixon and Neri and Purchase collected another valuable conference victory on the backend of the 25-game regular season schedule.

NYU-POLY is now 1-6 in the Skyline and 3-9 overall. Purchase holds onto its 3rd place spot at 6-2 in the league and 12-2 overall.
