Brooklyn, NY (Feb. 27, 2013) – In the end, the 28th and last game was a microcosm of the 2012-13 season for the Purchase women's basketball team.

After a devastating loss to Farmingdale State in the Skyline Conference Championships Saturday, the Panthers hit the road once again to face-off in the ECAC Metro Tournament Quarterfinal game against Brooklyn College Wednesday evening. Five 3-pointers in the first half aided Brooklyn to an early lead, combined with Purchase's 21 turnovers resulted in the 70-50 win for the Bulldogs, who will advance to the semifinals.

After a jumper from Talia Beaulieu (SR/Waldorf, MD) tied the game at 12 at the 9:01 mark of the first half, the Bulldogs went on a 9-2 run followed by back-to-back 3s by Brittany Bowen and Vanessa D'Ambrosi, respectively, the score jumped to 32-21 at the buzzer.

Returning to the paint for the second half, the Panthers put up a hard fight but could not come back from the double-digit deficit.

Purchase shot 32.2 percent from the field and 25 percent from the three-point line.

Beaulieu lead the Panthers with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Point guard Alexis Billups (SR/Chester, NY) also had an exceptional game with six assists and eight rebounds. Tonight's game is the last time both Beaulieu and Billups will suit up in the Blue and Orange.

For Brooklyn (No. 1 seed), this is its fifth straight ECAC appearance.

Purchase (No. 8 seed) has not seen ECAC action since 2009.

Tonight's game concludes the Panthers' respectable season as they finish 17-11 overall.
