Troy, NY (Jan. 15, 2014) – A see-saw matchup came down to the closing minutes of the second half Wednesday night, with host Sage pulling away late to top Purchase.

The Gators earned a 77-71 victory at the Neff Center to improve to 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the Skyline Conference, while Purchase falls to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the league.

The Gators held a 33-29 lead at the break and despite a slight hiccup in the second half pulled away en route to the team's fourth straight win.

Rookie guard Frankie Pearson scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Gators, while junior Megan Bowman added 16 points with a personal-best 12 assists, which ranks No. 1 with two others for the most assists in a single-game at Sage.  

Purchase's Elizabeth Osowiecki (SO/Franklyn Square, NY) added a game-high 21 points as she hit 7 of 13 from the floor and both Jess Lindsay (SR/Rochester, NY) and Jazmin Garcia (JR/Peekskill, NY) tallied 14 points each. Jessica Bullock (SR/Thiells, NY) added a double-double with her 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Panthers.
