Jess Lindsay went double-double, totaling a career-high 30 points and 16 rebounds in leading the host Panthers to a 82-74 win over SUNY Old Westbury in Skyline Conference action Monday evening.
Lindsay (SR/Rochester, NY) went 5-of-7 in the first six minutes of action, scoring 22 of Purchase's 44 first-half points. Teammates
Lineker St.Hilaire (JR/Wyandanch, NY) and
Jazmin Garcia (JR/Peekskill, NY) also contributed to the home victory with double-digit points. St.Hilaire went 6-12 from the paint, totaling 12 points. Garcia added 10 points and 10 rebounds while forwards
Jeidar Cole (JR/Bronx, NY) and
Elizabeth Osowiecki (SO/Franklin Square, NY) each grabbed nine boards in tonight's action.
Purchase (6-6, 2-3 Skyline) lead the boards from the start of the game and never allowed a single tie or lead change. O;d Westbury (4-12, 2-3 Skyline) had a game-high 23 turnovers, creating many scoring opportunities for the host Panthers.
Clarissa Gallagher and Jasmine Robinson led Old Westbury in scoring with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
Purchase came out at halftime leading 44-38 and quickly built its lead to 11 points in the opening five minutes of the second half. A layup by St.Hilaire gave the Panthers its double-digit lead as they cruised from there to the finish.
The Panthers head to Brooklyn, NY this Wednesday for a non-conference match-up against Brooklyn College beginning at 6 p.m.
