Women’s Basketball Falls at Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY (Jan. 22, 2014) – The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team extended its winning streak to a season-high five straight on Wednesday night in a 76-37 victory over Purchase College in a non-conference matchup at the West Quad Center.

With the win, the Bulldogs move to 12-4 overall on the season, as the team has now won nine of its last 10 games.

The Panthers drop to an even 7-7 overall.

BC's tenacious defense set the tone early as the Bulldogs scored 27 points off of 20 first half turnovers by Purchase.

Megan Campbell and Nicole Francomano scored 12 points apiece in the opening half as Brooklyn would surge out to a commanding 42-16 halftime lead.

Carissa Williams led all scorers with a game-high 17 points, to go along with seven rebounds, while Campbell finished with 15 points and eight rebounds.  

Purchase was led by Deanna Jones (FR/Tompkins Cove, NY), who netted a team-high eight points. Elizabeth Osowiecki (SO/Frankln Square, NY) added seven points.
