Farmingdale, NY (Feb. 1, 2014) – No. 13 Purchase staged a dramatic come-from-behind victory at Farmingdale State Saturday, keeping their perfect conference record intact.

The Panthers, which lost their first game of the season last week at Albertus Magnus, have recovered nicely, posting back-to-back wins – their latest a 55-46 comeback that was highlighted by a remarkable 18-3 run over the final 8:11.

The nationally-ranked Panthers improved to 16-1 overall and 10-0 in the Skyline Conference, while Farmingdale State now stands at 12-6, 8-3.
Leading 12-10 with 12:21 remaining in the first half, the Rams used a 9-0 run to increase their advantage to 11.

Farmingdale State led 27-15 before seven straight Purchase points cut the deficit to 27-22 with 4:09 left in the half.

Following a Wilson Molina 3-pointer, the Panthers hit two free-throws before the hosts scored the final five points of the half and took a 35-24 advantage into the break.

The Rams increased the lead to 13 early in the second half, but an 11-2 Purchase run capped off by a David Haughton (SR/Greenburgh, NY) dunk pulled them within four, 41-37.

The Panthers held Farmingdale State to only five points the final 9:12 to earn a 55-46 win and remain unbeaten in the league.

In the loss, Jonathan Annan and Donald Lawes totaled eight points apiece.

Purchase was led by center Joel Neri (JR/Port Chester, NY), who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards, while blocking a game-high six shots. Haughton added nine points and 12 boards, and Justin Person (JR/Greenburgh, NY) chipped in seven points, nine rebounds and four assists.
