Purchase, NY (Feb. 3, 2014) – Purchase carved up its second consecutive win Saturday at home against the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 66-56, Tuesday evening.

In addition to the team's victory, ace forward Jess Lindsay (SR/Rochester, NY)  reached a personal goal of 1,001 points on a left baseline jumper two minutes into the first half.

Post-game, Lindsay commented on the moment. "It's one of those things you're always hoping to get, but not many people do, so it's nice to finally get a big accomplishment here."

Lindsay finished the game with five points, three rebounds, three steals and one block.

Tonight's matchup featured the Skyline Conference's two top players of the week, Purchase's Jazmin Garcia (JR/Peekskill, NY) and Kelly Fraser, representing the Dolphins. The two are the reigning Skyline co-players of the week.

Garcia finished with a game-high 25 points and 12 boards. She also dished out two assists and had one steal.  In defeat, Fraser had a big game with 24 points, 14 boards, three blocks and one steal.

Another smoking-gun for Purchase was Lineker St.Hilaire (JR/Wyandanch, NY), who totaled 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block.

To start the second half, the Dolphins were on the comeback trail, as the Panthers started to lose their edge. They gave up two baskets to the Mount and had two turnovers on the other end.

Purchase quickly regrouped, forcing three straight turnovers and moving the ball on offense.  With under six minutes remaining, Purchase led by 11 points.

The Dolphins tried ramping up their pressure, which was successful in spurts, but came up short in the end.

Purchase is now 10-8 overall and 6-4 in the Skyline.  Their next game is at home on Feb. 6 against the Colonials of Western Connecticut State University.
