(Jan. 19, 2015) – Senior center Jah-Leah Ellis scored a game-high 35 points, leading the College of New Rochelle (8-5) to a 64-62 late comeback win over Purchase (2-12) in a non-conference women's basketball game on Monday evening.

Elizabeth Osowiecki (JR/Franklin Square, NY) opened up the scoring with back-to-back jumpers. Teammate
Jeidar Cole (SR/Bronx, NY) added another three points, giving the Panthers a 7-2 lead to start the game.
The Panthers held a close lead for most of the first half until an Ellis free-throw would tie the game at 17 with 7:16 left on the clock. From there, The Blue Angels rallied for a quick 10 points to lead, 27-22, at the half.
Returning to the court for the second stanza, Purchase bounced back quickly. With 11:55 left in play,
Allison Haugh (SO/New City, NY) hit a jumper to tie the game at 38 apiece. A three-point shot and field goal made by
Michelle Rupelli (FR/Staten Island, NY), two free throws from Haugh and an Osowiecki field goal would give the Panthers an eight-point lead.
The Blue Angels trailed 58-49 with four minutes remaining. New Rochelle outscored Purchase, 15-4, the rest of the way to prevail.
Ellis went on to score 10 of CNR's final 15 points. She also tallied a game-high 18 rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 34 minutes of action.
For Purchase, Cole tallied a double-double on the evening with 17 points and 14 boards. Osowiecki and Haugh added to the effort with 15 points apiece, and Rupelli totaled a game-high six assists and two steals.
Up next, the Panthers travel to Albany, NY for 7 p.m. Skyline Conference game against The Sage Colleges on Wednesday.
