Purchase, NY (Feb. 11, 2015) – Despite a strong first half Wednesday night, one in which Purchase led, Sage battled back and topped the Panthers 77-64 en route to its eighth straight win.
 
After trailing at the half, 36-34, the streaking Gators put together a strong final 20 minutes to collect the win. The victory improved the team's record to 14-5 overall and 7-2 in the Skyline Conference standings. The Panthers are now 3-18, including 1-9 in the league.
 
Sage's senior guard Megan Bowman finished the night with 23 points. She added four assists with four rebounds and three steals. Krystyn Knockwood had a career night for the Gators as she finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds, both personal bests. She scored 13 of her points in the second half to help Sage seal the win.
 
An up-tempo start had Purchase leading 10-8 through the first five minutes. The half also marked a 17-10 run for the hosts. Purchase leapt out to its largest lead at 27-18 with seven minutes left in the half.
 
But Sage regrouped and put together a 13-0 run of its own for a 31-27 margin. An Allison Haugh (SO/New City, NY) 3-pointer highlighted a strong spurt at the end of the half, giving the Panthers a 36-34 lead at intermission.  

Sage came out firing in the second half, taking the lead through the first minutes of the period. Bowman stretched the lead to seven with a score five minutes in to make it 49-43. The visitors would eventually create some separation and wore down Purchase over the final 10 minutes of the game.
 
The Panthers were led by Elizabeth Osowiecki (JR/Franklin Square, NY), who finished with a team-high 21 points. Haugh added 17. Jeidar Cole (SR/Bronx, NY) and Kristine Viven (JR/New York, NY) contributed 10 points apiece.
