Purchase, NY (Nov. 11, 2016) – Purchase College swimming hosted a double dual Friday night, welcoming two Skyline Conference opponents to the campus.

Mount Saint Mary would earn victories against both programs. MSMC topped Purchase on the women's side 147-97 and St. Joseph's College-BKLYN 162-82. The Panther women earned a team win against St. Joe's, 126-116, coming from behind late to seize the thrilling matchup.

On the men's side, MSMC topped Purchase 128-75 and SJC-BKLYN 144-53, while the Panther men defeated St. Joe's 100-62.

The evening was highlighted by several standout performances from the hosts.

Rachel Parker (SR/Glen Head, NY) took 3rd in the 200 free (2:14.04) and later returned to finish first in the 50 free (26.33) and first in the 50 butterfly (28.82).

Lorena Peralta (JR/Bronx, NY) won the 50 back (31.34). Peralta also earned a second-place finish in the 100 free (59.67), narrowly losing the race to MSMC's Allison Sciucco. Peralta capped her individual night with a second in the 200 IM (2:33.88).   

Robert Olejarz (JR/Brooklyn, NY) took third in the 50 breast (39.48). 

Daniel Demopolous (JR/White Plains, NY) bested the field in the 100 fly (1:05.33). 

Sam Jaffe (SR/Silver Spring, MD) topped the field in the 50 free (23.25). Jaffe also added a second in the 100 breast (1:04.67). He was out-touched 1:04.31 to 1:04.67 by MSMC's Jake Schoenherr. The standout finished his night in first place in the 200 IM (2:10.25).

Sebastian Checchi (JR/New Rochelle, NY) turned in a great race in the 100 free. He won the event in 55.97. Checchi also contributed a second-place finish in the 500 free (5:46.15).

Colleen Ferguson (SO/Marcellus, NY) ran strong in the 500 free (6:11.53), capturing first in the distance event.

The Panthers completed the evening with a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 free relays.
