NEW YORK, N.Y. - For the first time since January 2025, the SUNY Purchase women's swim team competed in an NCAA competition.

The occasion took place on October 20th, as the squad competed in a tri-match against John Jay College and Maritime College. The event came after taking last season off to regroup and reorganize the program moving forward.

Results

On the night, the Panthers were bested by each foe, falling to John Jay (61-28) and Maritime (71-15).

Individually, Luella Otis (FY/Ardsley, NY) had the top finish for the Blue and Orange, as she placed second in the 200-free.

Avery Wallace (SO/Weston, PA) placed third in the 200-IM, while Riley Langford (SR/Queesnbury, NY) came in fourth in the 100-back.

In the end though, the results weren't the top focus of the night. It was the return to the pool that was the true highlight.

Up next for the squad will be the team's home opener, as they welcome Baruch College on October 27th at 6 p.m.
