Purchase, NY (Jan. 16, 2019) – Visiting New Paltz – a top tier, SUNY opponent – earned two wins Wednesday night at Purchase.

The Hawks defeated the Panthers 52-48 on the women's side and 100-28 on the men's side, finishing the meet in exhibition.

New Paltz's strong start was guided by wins in the 200-yard medley relay. Natalia Giunta and Nolan West continued the strong start with a victories in the women's and men's 200 IM, respectively.

Purchase's Alex Palermo (SO/Rye, NY) got the home team up on the board with a first place finish in the women's 200-yard freestyle. Jamison Murcott (SR/Bayville, NY) added another three points for PC in the 50-free.

In the same event, NP's Degen Mariniello clocked in at 28.59 for first place. In the men's 50-free, Joseph Galante was the top finisher. He notched another nine points for the visitors with his 23.78 finish.

Purchase returns to action Friday at home, when the Panthers welcome the College of New Rochelle to the pool for a 6 p.m. start.
