(Jan. 29, 2019) – In their second matchup of the season with St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn), the Purchase College women's basketball team suffered a 77-53 loss to the host Bears at the Hill Center Tuesday evening.
Action opened with 13 unanswered points from the home team, before Purchase guard
Amber Jones (SR/Bronx, NY) lit up the Panthers' side of the board with a point from the charity stripe at 5:36.
SJC led 43-24 at halftime, and despite Purchase putting up its best shooting effort of the night in the third quarter, the host Bears continued to advance until the final buzzer.
Four Bears reached double-digit scoring to lead the charge. Kelly O'Donnell netted a game-high 25 points, six rebounds and five steals, while Victoria Porcasi tallied 23 points and six boards. Jamie Provino chipped in with 15 points and Lauren Quesada recorded a double-double in the books with 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Dejeana Peoples (SO/New York, NY) tied for team-best with 10 points apiece, while
Shadai Plowden (FR/Yonkers, NY) and
Savannah Lopez (JR/Monroe, NY) combined for 18 points (9 apiece) off the bench.
Up next, Purchase heads to Old Westbury, NY where the Panthers look to bounce back from Tuesday's loss. The game against SUNY Old Westbury is slated for this Saturday at 1 p.m.
