ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY - The Purchase College women's swimming team was defeated in its season opener Friday night, falling at Bard College in a non-conference meet, 103-71.

Mackenzie Gunning secured the first win of the 2019-20 season for the Panthers, as she placed first in the 50-free.

Brienne Westfall then took the top spot in the 500-free, before Purchase ended the night with a final victory in 200-free relay via the quartet of Alexandra Palermo, Samantha Schnupp, Sarah Siano and Westfall.

Up next for the Panthers is the start of Skyline action. The team is set to face St. Joseph's College-Long Island and The College at Old Westbury in a tri-meet. The meet is set for November 2nd at 1 p.m. in Patchogue, NY.
