Men's Golf Falls to Yeshiva in Skyline Match

NEW YORK, NY - The Purchase College men's golf team lost at Yeshiva University Sunday afternoon, falling to the Skyline Conference foe, 360-331.

Results

Sophomore Simon Montalvo (New York, NY) continued his hot start to the 2019 season, as he finished with a match-best 77 over the 18 holes. He finished two shots better than any other golfer and missed par by just three strokes on the day.

Junior Will Burger (Albany, NY) tied for the third best mark of the afternoon, as he shot 81.

After the contest, head coach James Alfredo was upbeat about his team's play. "Anytime you go to a visiting course, it is the greens that are the equalizer. I think our guys hit the ball well from tee to green.  We just need more reps on the short game and we will be fine," Alfredo said.

For Yeshiva, Jordan Soclof (SR/Teaneck, NJ) tallied a 79 to lead the Maccabees.

Up next for the Panthers is more Skyline Conference action, as the team will participate in the Farmingdale State College Skyline Invitational on September 20th.
