PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's swim team was defeated by the Hawks of Hunter College Wednesday evening, falling by the score of 130-32 in the non-conference meet.

With the result, the Panthers dropped to 0-9 overall, while the Hawks jumped to 4-0.

Mackenzie Gunning (SR/Wantagh, NY) recorded Purchase's top finish on the night, placing second in the 50-free with a time of 29.64. Later in the meet, she collected a third-place result in the 100-free. 

The Panthers also got two top-three finishes from Brienne Westfall (JR/Grand Island, NY), as she finished second in the 500-free and third in the 200-free.

Finally, Diana Gilday closed out the meet with the bronze in the 100-breast. To see the full list of results, click here.

As for the Purchase College men's swim team, the squad had the night off because Hunter College only sponsors women's swim. But that didn't stop the Panthers from getting in a couple practice swims throughout.

Up next for the men's and women's teams is a month off for the end of the semester and the holiday break, before they return to action in January at St. Joseph's College-Long Island. That Skyline Conference dual meet is set for the 11th at noon.
