BRONX, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's swim team dropped a close non-conference decision, 120-102, to Lehman College at The APEX Pool on Monday night.
Brienne Westfall (SR/Grand Island, NY) and
Chloe McDonald (FR/Highland Falls, NY) each collected a pair of first-place finished to pace the Panther squad. Westfall downed the competition in the 500-yard freestyle (6:05.25) and 200-IM (2:37.48), while McDonald dominated in the 1000-free (13:53.78) and 50-backstroke (35.34).
Reece Brooks (SR/Schuylerville, NY) and
Piper Savage (FR/Port Chester, NY) also took home top finishes in the 100-free and 50-butterfly, respectively.
In the Monday's finale—the 200-yard freestyle relay—
Ryan Balbuena (JR/Bronx, NY),
Katherine Escobar (FR/Port Chester, NY),
Isabella Morabito (SO/Brooklyn, CT) and Brooks won first place with a combined team time of 2:27.84.
The Panthers look to keep the momentum going when they return to the pool after the Thanksgiving break. The team will play host to Skyline powerhouse U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
