PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Panthers tipped their swim caps one last time during the regular season Tuesday for five outstanding student-athletes.
Playing host to Skyline Conference rival Maritime College, the Purchase men's and women's teams capped a competitive evening in the pool with a Senior Night celebration. Both ends of the matchup landed in favor of the visitors, however, as the Privateers defeated the Panthers 95-62 on the women's side and 122-54 on the men's side.

Brienne Westfall (Grand Island, NY),
Reece Brooks (Schuylerville, NY),
Aidan Mauer (Poughkeepsie, NY),
Eli Stiewing (Brooklyn, NY) and
Nicholas Switalski (Buffalo, NY) were honored for their hard work and contributions to the program.
Purchase won the opening women's relay for an 11-4 margin and Westfall kept things going with a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM. The standout senior made another splash in the 100-backstroke, clocking in at first with a time of 1:09.00. Teammate
Chloe McDonald (FR/Highland Falls, NY) hit the pad seconds later (1:13.42) to secure second place.
The Purchase men's team was edged out 11-4 in the opening relay but chipped away at the deficit following a combined seven points from Switalski and
Daniel Karpf (JR/Floral Park, NY) in the 200-freestyle.
Matthias Schmidt (JR/White Plains, NY) lit up the board as the top finisher and collected nine points for Purchase following a 1:12.47 time in the 100-yard breaststroke.
In the end, Maritime won eight of 13 women's events and 10 of 13 men's events to secure the pair of victories.
The Panthers and Privateers face off again this weekend at Skyline Championships. The two-day tournament—hosted by Purchase—will kick off on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
