PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College softball team split a doubleheader against Baruch College on Thursday evening.
With the results, the Blue and Orange improved to 6-2 and the Bearcats moved to 5-9.Â

Game One: Baruch 10, Purchase 0 (5 inn.)
Baruch took control of the game in the second inning on a wild pitch, then broke the game open with a three-run fourth and a six-run fifth.Â
The Panthers struggled at the plate, mustering just two hits—a double from Sariah Sanchez (FY/Eastvale, CA) and a single from Kelly Jennings (JR/Yorktown Heights, NY).
Liv Goff (SO/Syracuse, NY) took her first loss of the season (3-1), allowing nine hits and five earned runs over five innings while striking out six.
Game Two: Purchase 10, Baruch 5 (6 inn.)
The Panthers regrouped in Game two, using a five-run fourth inning to secure a 10-5 victory before the game was called due to low lighting.
Arielle Reddick (FY/Fishkill, NY) led the offense, going 3-for-4 with six RBIs, including a two-run single in the second and a two-run triple in the fourth. Jennings scored three runs, while Mel Harper (SO/East Patchogue, NY) and Cameron Wright (FY/Portland, OR) each added an RBI.
Sam Christopher (SO/North Babylon, NY) improved to 2-1 on the season, earning the win after allowing six hits and five runs while striking out two over six innings.
Up next, the Panthers travel to Western Connecticut State on April 1st for a doubleheader set for 3:30 p.m.
