Every week, the Sports Information department will post a "Did You Know?" tidbit to the website.

This week's interesting tidbit is: Did you know that Purchase College senior Liam Daly become the first player in Purchase College history to be named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-American First Team?

The historic honor became just the latest in a long line of accolades for Daly (Babylon, NY), who claimed even more awards during the 2025 campaign.

For the season, the first baseman led in the entire nation with a .496 batting average, collecting 58 hits in 117 at-bats. He recorded 13 doubles, one triple, and seven home runs, while driving in a team-high 45 RBIs. He also scored 35 runs, walked 15 times and stole 16 bases, while striking out just nine times all year.

With the recognition, Liam became one of just 45 players across all of NCAA Division III baseball to be recognized.

Likewise, with his spot on the All First-Team, among all first baseman in the country that play Division III baseball (and there a lot of them), D3baseball.com voters believe Daly will be the best in the nation.

And it is hard to argue with his stacked resume. Below is a list of the notable achievements for Daly's career so far:

• 2023-24 Purchase College Athlete of the Year (Men's Teams)

• 2022-23 Purchase College Rookie of the Year (Men's Teams)

With the 2026 season on the horizon, Daly and the Panthers are looking to return to the playoffs after missing out last season.

The journey gets underway on February 28th, when Purchase hosts The City College of New York at 11 a.m. for a doubleheader.
