NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team had five student-athletes named to the All-Skyline Conference Team, it was announced Wednesday.

That number marks the most student-athletes ever to be honored in a season for the program, as the previous high was four back in 2019.

Leading the charge was Jael Martinez (JR/Bronx, NY), as the lone Panther to land on the All-First Team.

He finished the year with a team-high 296 points and 256 kills, as well as 25 aces, 136 digs and 25 total blocks. Jael placed sixth in the conference in points and kills, and hit .193 on the year.

Jumping to the All-Second Team, the Blue and Orange produced four honorees in Hector Ruiz (SO/Bronx, NY), Joey Toscano (SO/Levittown, NY), Danny Kanner (FY/Smithtown, NY) and Udel Phillips (JR/Far Rockaway, NY).

Ruiz produced 274.5 points, 238 kills and 29 aces - all three totals were second-best for Purchase. He hit .217 for the year, while averaging the most points (3.31) and kills (2.87) per set.

Toscano totaled a team-high 246 digs, which was second-most in the conference.

Kanner did it all as a first-year, finishing with the second-most assists in program history at 756. He also collected the second-most aces in the Skyline with 47, while adding 139.5 points, 199 digs and 22 blocks.

Finally, Phillips rounded out the list, as he recorded 266.5 points, 213 kills and 26 aces, all of which were third on Purchase. He also led the squad in blocks with 41 (14 solo), which placed him third in the Skyline.
