BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase cross country teams competed at the LIU Invitational Friday morning, as the season begins to hit its stride.

Men's
On the day, the men's team finished fifth out of five teams, as it tallied 145 points total. In first place was Central Connecticut with 23 points in the 8K event.
Individually,
Jack Sherman (SO/Scarsdale, NY) was the Panthers' top finisher, as he came in 30th out of 53 runners. He crossed the finish line in a time of 29:29.79.
Following behind was
Alexander Carbo (SR/Hopedale, MA) and
Jaden Forth (FY/Bronx, NY) in second and third place, respectively.
Finally,
Jaydhen Duran (FY/Bronx, NY) and
Kevin Sanguina (JR/Patterson, NY) rounded out the finishers for the Blue and Orange.
Women's
On the women's side, the Panthers did not place due to only having one runner. Central Connecticut also emerged in first place in this 6K race, totaling just 26 points.
The lone runner for the squad was
Flora Parker-Myers (SO/Kingston, NY), as she came in 21st out of 38 runners. She crossed the line in a time of 26:06.79.
Up next for Purchase is a meet at St. Joseph's University-Long Island on September 26th.
