(April 15, 2015) – In a 15-8 final, Western Connecticut improved to 12-8 Wednesday in a non-conference win over Purchase.
The Panthers held an early 2-1, and shortly later 4-2 advantages before a six-run fifth inning opened the doors for the visitors.
WestConn backed that inning with four more runs in the sixth en route to the seven-run win.
Purchase starter
Teofilo Ramirez (JR/Queens, NY) pitched well through four innings, striking out two and walking none, but the Panther bullpen struggled in the middle frames as West Conn mounted a comeback and took control of the game late.

WestConn starter Josh Zurita earned the win on the mound. He allowed four earned over five innings. The Colonial bullpen pitched the final four innings and surrendered only four additional runs.
The Panthers were led offensively by
Nick Kulbaba (JR/Suffern, NY) and
Jay Ruiz (SR/Bronx, NY). Kulbaba went 3 for 5 with one RBI. Ruiz connected on an inside the park home run and finished with three RBI. Teammates
Elan Trishcitta (SR/Saugerties, NY),
Patrick Rucci (SO/Cortlandt Manor, NY) and
