Purchase, NY (Sept. 27, 2017) – The Purchase women's tennis team chalked an 8-1 decision against the visiting St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Wednesday afternoon.
With the victory, the Panther's advance to 1-1 in the Skyline Conference, while the Bears drop to 0-2.
Action got underway with doubles play as
Caroline Haldeman-Emmerling (SR/Miami Shores, FL) and
Raquelle DeCicco (FR/Kingston, NY) made quick work of Denise Trerotola and Daniella Alva at the No. 1 spot, 8-3.
Second doubles saw
Abigail Cuddy (JR/Mount Kisco, NY) and
Catherine Pasquale (SR/Valhalla, NY) net an 8-0 shutout victory over Jennifer Garcia and Lilianna McKenna.
Nadia Shadi (JR/New York, NY) and
Amelia Rothbell (FR/Plainedge, NY) also put in work for an 8-0 victory at the No. 3 doubles spot.
Purchase went on to pick up wins at five of the six singles positions.
Denise Trerotola would be pick up the only victory of the evening for St. Joe's. The No. 1 singles player defeated Haldeman-Emmerling 6-1, 6-0.
The Panthers look to add another win in league standings as they return to the courts to host Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday.
