NEW PALTZ, N.Y. — The Purchase College cross country teams showcased their speed and determination at the New Paltz Invitational on Friday. The 2023 opener was a late addition to the Panthers' schedule, replacing their Sept. 9 home invitational which was canceled due to weather.
Results
The Panthers competed on the 6K course against a field of 83 runners from 14 other institutions, including top finisher and host New Paltz. Sophomore Hawk Lillian Stephenson
took home first place with an impressive time of 25:52.5.
In her cross country debut, junior three-sport athlete
Chloe McDonald (Highland Falls, NY) paced the Panther squad and placed 18th overall 31:32.7.
Sophomore
Victor Vyssotski (Tarrytown, NY) clocked in at 33:48.7 to secure 25th overall, followed by rookies
Audrey Jones (FR/New Hyde Park, NY) and
Gabriella Bardales (FR/Schenectady, NY) at 34:20.6 and 37:03.1, respectively.
The Panthers will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 24 at the 15th Annual Knight Invitational hosted by Skyline opponent Mount Saint Mary College.
