MILTON, N.Y. – Purchase College cross country battled the muddy courses at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome on Sunday in the 2023 Skyline Conference Championships. The Panthers finished eighth out of 12 teams in the women's 6k event and seventh out of 11 teams in the men's 8k.
In the biggest race of the season, Chloe McDonald (JR/Highland Falls, NY) and Robert Royston (SO/Nyack, NY) paced the Panther squads and were among the league elite as top-10 finishers.
McDonald clocked in another stellar performance, finishing sixth in a field of 85 runners with a 6k time of 30:05. For her efforts, the cross country newcomer was dubbed the Skyline Rookie of the Year while also earning a spot on the All-Conference First Team.

With 87 runners toeing the line for the men's race, Royston finished eighth overall and garnered an All-Skyline Second Team selection. He clocked in at 30:11.7, followed by Lucas Colon (JR/Bronx, NY) (35:22.8), Samuel Teich (SR/South Salem, NY) (37:23.2), George Reid (SO/Hurley, NY) (38:11.9) and Timothy Berry (FR/Albany, NY) (42:59.3).

Isabella Gaynor (FR/) (34:03.8), Gabriella Bardales (FR/Schenectady, NY) (35:27.9), Audrey Jones (FR/New Hyde Park, NY) (36:43.8) and Viktor Vyssotski (SO/Tarrytown, NY) (36:43.8) rounded out the scoring for Purchase on the 6k course.
