PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College men's and women's cross country teams closed out their seasons at home on Saturday, hosting the 2025 Skyline Conference Championships and Senior Day. The event brought together 12 women's teams and 11 men's teams.
Before the race, Head Coach
Francis Burdett and the team honored the seniors with posters and a special gift to celebrate their dedication and accomplishments. Purchase College President Michael E. Steiper was also in attendance to congratulate the seniors on their careers and wish them well in their next chapter.
The Panthers placed 10th overall, led by an impressive run from first-year standout Flora Parker-Myers (Kingston, NY), who finished third individually with 25:13.6. Senior Victor Vyssotski (Tarrytown, NY) was next across the line for Purchase in 10th place at 26:06.1, closing his collegiate career with a strong showing.
Rounding out Purchase's scoring runners were Mel Harper (JR/Patchogue, NY), Madeline Ortiz (SO/Yonkers, NY), Isabella Pizza (SR/Warwick, NY), and Helen Huang (SR), who finished 35:14.3, 35:18.0, 35:18.1 and 50:01.4, respectively.
Sarah Lawrence captured the women's team title with 61 points, followed by USMMA (69) and SUNY Maritime (115).
On the men's side, Purchase finished eighth overall with 219 points. Reece Grieshaber (SO/Fairport, NY) was the top Panther finisher, clocking in at 29:51.5 for 23rd place. Alexander Carbo (JR/Hopedale, MA) followed close behind at 30:02.3, while Timo Berry (JR/Albany, NY), Kevin Sanguina (SO/Patterson, NY) and senior Christian Barragan rounded out the top five finishing 35:32.3, 37:54.5 and 41:54.9, respectively.
USMMA dominated the men's race, sweeping the top five spots for a perfect 15-point finish. St. Joseph's-Long Island (58) and Farmingdale State (76) completed the podium.
Following the meet, an awards ceremony took place where All-Conference honors were awarded based on finishing times, with the top seven runners earning First Team recognition and the next seven named to the Second Team. Parker-Myers earned First Team All-Conference recognition after placing third overall, while Vyssotski was named to the Second Team All-Conference with a 10th-place finish.
To close out the 2025 season, the Blue and Orange are heading upstate to compete in the NCAA D3 Niagara Regional Competition on November 15th.
