PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Purchase College cross country teams turned in determined efforts at the Golden Eagle Invitational, hosted by St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday morning. Racing under sunny skies, the Panthers tested themselves against a challenging field from across the region.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
First-year standout Flora Parker-Myers (Kingston, NY) paced the lineup with an impressive 15th-place finish in 21:58, continuing her strong debut season. Following close behind was Victor Vyssotski (SR/Tarrytown, NY) in 23:00. Kendall Larsen (SO/Staten Island, NY) crossed in 25:14 in her first collegiate race, while Madeline Ortiz (SO/Yonkers, NY) rounded out the lineup in 27:57.
MEN'S RESULTS
On the men's side, Reece Grieshaber (SO/Fairport, NY) led Purchase, finishing 32nd overall in 31:38. Alexander Carbo (JR/Hopedale, MA) followed in 33:18, while veteran Timothy Berry (5th year/Albany, NY) battled the course for a time of 38:40. Finishing in 42:11, Kevin Sanguina (SO/Patterson, NY) was followed by senior Christian Barragan at 46:52 to close the scoring for Purchase.
The Panthers placed 10th in the men's team standings, while St. Joseph's-Long Island took the team title.
Up next, the Blue and Orange travel to Bard College for the Fred Pavlich Invitational on September 20.
