West Hartford, Conn. (Nov. 16-17, 2012) – Women's basketball fell in the opening matchup of the 15th Annual USJ Tip-Off Tournament Friday night, but rebounded nicely Saturday against Fisher in the consolation game.

Under new head coach Kellianne Dunlay, the Panthers topped Fisher 58-40. Standout Jess Lindsay (JR/Rochester, NY) was named to the All-Tournament team.

Lindsay pulled down 13 rebounds and scored 13 points to lead the Panthers Saturday. Her double-double was a nice highlight on an afternoon when many contributed. Jalisa Fields (SR/Bronx, NY) and Christina Rupp (SO/Ossining, NY) also added 11 points apiece and double figure rebounds, as the Panthers had three finish with double-doubles.

Meanwhile, tournament Most Valuable Player Dreisen Heath went 10-for-11 from the field, including making all four three-point attempts and scored 25 points to lead Wesleyan to an overtime victory over the University of Saint Joseph, 66-61, Saturday in the championship game.

Wesleyan improved to 2-0 overall, and Saint Joseph is 1-1.

Purchase also starts the season at 1-1.

With Saint Joseph trailing 52-49, USJ sophomore Brianna Ferraro made a dramatic 3-pointer with three seconds left in regulation to force overtime. But Heath made a 3-pointer 10 seconds into the overtime and the Cardinals never trailed in the extra session.

In Friday's semifinal, Wesleyan led 32-23 at halftime and outscored Purchase, 25-0, over the first 13:10 of the second half to put the game away.

Lineker St.Hilaire (SO/Wyandanch, NY) scored a game-high 16 points for Purchase in Friday's opener.
