(Mar. 24, 2012) – Farmingdale State freshman pitchers Taylor Tedeschi, Chelsea La Marca and Lisa Bonacasa combined for two run-rule victories over Purchase College (2-6, 0-2 Skyline Conference) today in a league doubleheader.
In game one, Tedeschi threw four innings allowing five hits and striking out six batters. Bonacasa pitched the final inning for Farmingdale State with no hits and one walk. Offensively, the Rams combined for 25 hits in 38 at-bats. Senior first baseman Aubrey Walker went 3 for 3 with five RBI, spearheading the Rams' 23-3 victory.
La Marca pitched the second game in a 12-2 complete game victory, striking out five and walking one, while allowing four hits. Kristen Flint, who also drove in five runs in the opener, finished with five more RBI on 3-of-4 batting with one run scored in game two.
The Rams improved to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in their league opener.

Christine Leo (SO/Monroe, CT) had two hits in game one, while
Mariel Perez (SR/Queens, NY) and
Alexis Vallario (JR/Yonkers, NY) each had an RBI apiece in game two. Perez also recorded an RBI in game one.
The Panthers will look to bounce back Sunday when they return home for another league twin bill. Purchase will host Sage Sunday. First pitch is set for noon.
