Newburgh, NY (Apr. 15, 2012) – Mount Saint Mary topped Purchase 11-0 and 11-3, respectively, on Sunday.

MSMC's  Victoria DeMarco and Stephanie Karcher both homered in game two of Sunday's double-header.  Karcher's grand slam in the first inning gave the Knights a 5-1 advantage, while DeMarco's three-run shot in the fourth capped the scoring for the Mount and made the score, 11-2. Sophomore starting pitcher Amanda Barrese allowed three hits and two earned runs to earn the victory in the circle.   

In game one, the Knights scored eight runs in the first inning. MSMC added three more runs in the third on run-scoring singles from DeMarco and Victoria Lane. DeMarco finished 2 for 2 with a run and an RBI, while Kehlenbeck went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI.   

For the Panthers, Cassandra Armstong (SO/Schenectady, NY) had a hit in each of the two games and Abigail Katz (JR/Livingston, NJ) added two hits in game two.

Purchase returns to action Tuesday at home, welcoming the College of New Rochelle for a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
