With Road Win at Sage, Men’s Hoops Improves to 10-2

Haughton, Neri Show the Way

Albany, NY (Jan. 12, 2013)David Haughton and Joel Neri stood tall in Saturday's road win at Sage.

The front-court tandem teamed to hand the hosts a 75-62 win at the Kahl Gym in Albany. In the process, Purchase rolled to 10-2 overall and 4-2 in Skyline Conference play.  

The loss puts Sage at 6-6 overall and 2-4 in the league.

Purchase's line-up finished with five players in double digit scoring. Haughton (JR/Greenburgh, NY) was the high-scorer with his 14 points and 11 rebounds and Neri (SO/Port Chester, NY) had 14 points.

Craig Davis (SR/Queens, NY) added 13 points, six boards and two blocks off the bench, as he had nine second-half points to pace the squad. Andre Nixon (JR/Harlem, NY) also recorded a double-double, netting 10 points and grabbing an impressive 10 rebounds in the win. He added two assists and two steals in 31 minutes.

Amar Reynolds (SR/Bronx, NY) came off the bench for the Panthers and chipped in 11 points. Fellow guard Dan Odiase (JR/Bronx, NY) contributed six points and three assists and played well defensively in the backcourt.  

Sage's senior center Ryan Sager finished with a double-double (13 points and 13 rebounds), but it was not enough as the Panthers came from behind after trailing 31-29 at the break.

The conference schedule continues next week as the Panthers return to action at CMSV.
